Acting as an initial confrontation in hair as it relates to expressions of identity and gender this piece takes on a nostalgic formal approach. Integrating kitsch elements pulled directly from childhood, the work invites social engagements of play. Through which the object becomes a conduit of shared memory, activated through the act of community expression and care.
